are a four-piece, Boston-based band of fast playing garage rockers that

Ted
Painter
is a country music singer/songwriter whose songs embrace the roots of
traditional country music while blending contemporary country and rock
influences.Painter
started writing and performing original in February 2006 after serving
as an infantry officer in the US Army. Most recently, Ted received
the 2008 New England Country Music Organizations Songwriter of the Year
award and he is also a 2007 Great American Song Contest award

Britt
Sawdon,
born and raised in West Boylston, received her degree in Vocal
Performance at IthacaCollege,
where she further developed her love for both jazz and the
singer/songwriter genre. Britt is currently recording her first
full-length original album planned for release this Fall '08. She
has played at Johnny D's in Somerville, The Bank of America Pavillion's
(originally Harbor Lights) VIP Club, and is also the featured vocalist
for the Compaq Big Band, a full 20-piece big band that plays frequently
across New England in such as venues as Ryles Jazz Club, the Waterfire
Festival in Providence, Rockafellas of Salem, and the Marblehead
Festival of Arts, among others.
Jon
Short, Bluesman.Specializing in the music & storytelling
of prewar blues masters, Jon Short’s high-energy foot-stomping
shows captivate audiences while tapping into the history and folklore
of the blues.Jon has played from the
heart of the Mississippi Delta to the cities of the European Union.He has contended in the semi-finals of the
2008 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, and is this year’s 1st
place winner of Worcester Magazine’s Turtle Boy Award for Blues
Musician.His “Blues in
Schools” programs work to keep the Blues alive by passing the
music to another generation of performers and audiences.
TallHeights:
Tim Harrington and Paul Wright are contemporary male duo/songwriters
from Sturbridge MA who have performed at the University of Milan, Italy
and all over the Northeast. They play their originals as well as
covers of Dispatch, Coldplay, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Damien Rice, The
Fray, Vertical Horizon, Gavin DeGraw, and the Beatles. Their
original Pop songs are loved for their great harmony and musically
sophisticated blend of acoustic guitar, cello, keyboard, stand up bass
and percussion.
The
Chili Sweet Band brings the high energy of singer
Shirley McAfee home with the band members Doug Williamson
(piano/guitar/harp), Frank Christy (bass), Dave Gozder (drums), and
Eddy Troxler (lead guitar) also of the Jazz Depot Band.
The
Delta Generators, winners
of the 2008 Boston Blues Challenge, were chosen as one of ten finalists
at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee
on February 7, 2009. The band consists of vocalist Craig Rawding,
guitarist Charlie O'Neal, bassist Rick O'Neal and drummer Jeff
Armstrong. The Delta Generators combine the urgency and soulfulness of
Delta blues with the power and energy of Memphis
soul, Louisiana
funk, and classic rock 'n' roll.Their CD "Devil
in the Rhythm" was nominated for best blues album in the 2008
Independent Music Awards.
The
Hazardous Constituentsare
a guitar driven classic rock band with country cookin' flavor.
With members originally drawn from the ranks of the USEPA’s New
England office, and a style steeped in the same 1960's sound and
consciousness which gave birth to the environmental movement, The
Hazardous Constituents are proud to carry on the tradition with songs
from Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones and The Band, CCR,
Dire Straits, and U-2, as well as originals. Band members include
Jim Murphy (bass), Bill Brandon (guitar/vocals), Ray Cody
(guitar/vocals), Bob Brackett (guitar/vocals), John Szel
(keyboard/vocals), Phil Dolan (drums) and Jerry Murphy (vocals).
The
High Society Orchestra:
The High Society Orchestra, formed in 1976 by Dr. Warren "Bud”
Trow of West Boylston, has played at such venues as the famous
Mechanics Hall in Worcester,
MA, and
WICN’s “Jazz at Sunset” series. Under the
leadership of Dan Gabel, the band continues to play with founding
members Wes and Esther Trow, and John Davis.
The
Valves & The Tornado Alley Horns,
consist of ten Worcester music veterans that play the fullest soul and
R&B rock to be heard in the Worcester area, and are winners of
Worcester Magazine’s 2008 Turtle Boy Music Award for top
Funk/Soul Band.Fronted by sultry
vocalist, Katie MacMahon, and backed up a knockdown horn section, The
Valves, burn down the house with a repertoire that includes songs by
Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and the Rolling Stones.Band members include bassist Joe Miglionico, a West
Boylston alum, that’s looking forward to rocking his old stomping
grounds on August 14 for the ARTS ROCK! Summer Concerts.

is no stranger to fizzy, fastbreak pop, having made his bones by
cofounding a little band called the Lemonheads two decades ago….
these days he’s joined by bassist-singer-spouse Lisa Deily and
drummer Joshua Pickering. “Night Owls,’’ the
group’s latest effort….is a nervy, brisk bolt through a
set of tunes whose crisp sound and bittersweet temperament pre-dates
the alternative rock that would morph into “grunge’’
- but thankfully post-dates it too.’’
Mr.
Kim Webster,
musician & puppeteer, will perform for children of all
ages. Mr. Webster’s rollicking fun songs on his CD
“Musical Child” have won him Best New Artist Award of 2004
by the Childrens Music Web. He is joined on his latest CD,
“Children of the Sea”, by his son Eric and singer friends
MacGillivary & Bowles.
The
“Chromatic” Chet Williamson & guitarist Steve CancelliTheir
latest recording, Two for the Road. The album features jazz
standards, harmonica favorites and bossa novas.Williamson has shared stages with many of the world's most
popular and finest musicians, including Sleepy LaBeef, Alan Dawson and
Joan Osborne. His harmonica styling can be heard on his own critically
acclaimed CD, Chromatic Swing as well as Valerie and Walter
Crockett's Emily’s Angel. His jazz credits include
performances with Dick Odgren, Emil Haddad, and Reggie Walley.Cancelli has been playing guitar for
more than a half century.Among his many
highlights, include performing in the Bob Hope Show at the Worcester
Memorial Auditorium and with Rita Moreno at the Andover Performing Arts
Center. He can be heard with Monica Hatch on her album If You Never
Come to Me.

of our young musicians who have performed in our festivals and coffee
houses are members of this organization providing an opportunity to
learn the art of symphonic music in a challenging atmosphere.The Worcester Youth Orchestras (WYO) is
recognized as one of the premier youth orchestras in New England.
